Distracted Driving Campaign Launched Today by Ramapo Police Department

by M.C. Millman

As distracted driving continues to gain recognition across the nation as a deadly traffic safety epidemic, the Ramapo Police Department joins other police departments in participating in the U Drive. U Text. U Pay traffic safety initiative.

The goal of the traffic safety initiative is to combat distracted driving so as to curb dangerous and often deadly motorist behavior.

The focus of this year's U Drive. U Text. U Pay. high visibility enforcement campaign centers on aiding law enforcement officers in their efforts to keep texting and distracted drivers off the road.

The distracted driving enforcement and the accompanying educational campaign will take place from April 3 through April  10th and is promoted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) along with the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC).
