The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has confirmed that a 2.7 magnitude earthquake struck near Hillsdale, New Jersey, on Monday afternoon, sending light tremors across parts of Rockland County and surrounding areas.

Reports are coming in from across Rockland County of residents feeling what appeared to be a minor earthquake Monday early afternoon.
