Customers Warned Not to Respond to Evergreen's Delivery Whatsapp After Store Is Hacked

Evergreen Kosher Market sent out an email to their customers tonight warning them that their delivery WhatsApp has been hacked.
This gives the hacker the ability to not only reach out via Evergreen's delivery number but also to get responses from customers in an effort to access their Whatsapp numbers to hack them and lock them out of their Whatsapp accounts as well.
"We put the email and the status out there," an Evergreen representative told Rockland Daily, "because we don't want the customers to get hacked like us. We are just looking to make sure our customers aren't affected by it. So if we bring awareness to it, we're hoping our customers won't be affected by it, too."
Evergreen offered the following recommendations. First of all, ignore any WhatsApp received from the Evergreen delivery department over the next 48 hours. Secondly, Evergreen suggests that if asked for a code or any kind of response, be aware that the request is not authorized or sent by Evergreen and should be disregarded. Customers should not respond in any way.
Evergreen also shared that only their delivery WhatsApp number was hacked. Customers can still keep up to date on everything that happens at all of Evergreen's stores by following the grocery's regular Whatsapp status.
