David Breuer – Yakov Duvid Breuer – was appointed as a commissioner of the Tallman Fire Department on Route 59 just a month ago, and his impact was felt almost immediately. Now running for a full five-year term in the December 9 election, David is introducing himself to residents of the Tallman Fire District, Montebello, Airmont, and Suffern with a clear message: strengthening response, modernizing operations, keeping taxes stable, and building a safer, more connected community.

David has been involved in community work for many years. After moving to Montebello four years ago, he continued helping families, neighbors, and local organizations with the same dedication he has always shown. As a father of three, he brings a steady and responsible approach to leadership, paired with a fresh vision for how the fire district can grow and improve.

Although he joined the Board only recently, David has already delivered real results. In his first weeks, he helped bring in four new volunteer members, including three from the heimish community. This quickly expanded manpower and strengthened the department’s connection to the residents it serves. He has also worked on improving overall response readiness and building better community relationships in a very short period of time.

Since being appointed, David has put real effort into building strong working relationships with the other commissioners. In a fire district, no commissioner can act alone; almost every decision requires the support of the full board. Understanding this, David focused on communication, respect, and consistency, and over time he earned the trust and confidence of the other commissioners — something that does not happen quickly or easily in a diverse district. Looking ahead, David’s priorities remain clear and focused on continuing the momentum he has already started:
