Clarkstown Police to Offer Free Child Car Seat Safety Checks in Nanuet
By Yisroel R.
The Clarkstown Police Department is inviting parents and caregivers to take part in a free child car seat safety inspection event scheduled for Sunday, January 25, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Nanuet Fire Department Substation located at 11 Renee Lane in Bardonia.
The event will be held by appointment only and is designed to help families ensure that child car seats are properly installed and meet current safety standards. Certified technicians will be on site to inspect car seats and provide guidance on correct installation, weight and height requirements, and general child passenger safety best practices.
Police officials say the goal of the program is to reduce the risk of injury by making sure car seats are used correctly, noting that even properly purchased seats are often installed incorrectly without families realizing it.
Residents interested in attending must schedule an appointment in advance through the Clarkstown Police Department’s website. Officials added that additional car seat safety inspection dates will be offered in the future for those unable to attend this event.
For more information or to schedule an appointment, residents are encouraged to visit the Clarkstown Police Department’s child safety seat webpage.
