Chaverim Partners With "59 Seconds" To Prevent Hot Car Tragedies
By Idy Perl
Tomorrow, Sunday, Chaverim is joining the "59 Seconds" initiative to distribute a life-saving device. 50 Seconds aims to prevent hot car deaths and drownings by raising awareness, distributing tools, and funding various initiatives to protect children.
As part of their campaign, they will be distributing free Clever Elly devices, which remind drivers to check the back seat before exiting their vehicle. The Clever Elly simply plugs into a car's 12V port, and is preloaded with audio reminders recorded by familiar Jewish voices such as Uncle Moishy and Avraham Fried.
The distribution will take place on Sunday, August 10th, at 448 Saddle River Road, from 2-5pm. 59 Seconds urges anyone who needs the device to take one free of charge, and those who can are encouraged to give an $18 donation to support their life-saving work.
