Car Overturns On Problematic Road In Airmont

By Idy Perl
On Thursday afternoon a vehicle lost control and overturned on Cragmere Road, near Yale Drive, in Airmont, causing a victim to sustain injuries. Ramapo Police, Hatzolah, and the Tallman and Suffern Fire Departments responded to the scene.
Neighbors tell Rockland Daily that the road is an ongoing safety issue and many car accidents have been occuring there due to a wall on the side of the road that many drivers don't see. Although they've reported the issue to the Village of Airmont multiple times, the Village has yet to let residents know how the issue will be resolved.
Last summer Senator Bill Weber visited the Cragmere Road to address pedestrian safety issues, as the narrow road lacks sidewalks and insufficient lighting.
