Car Hauler Hit By Train in West Nyack

M.C. Millman

A car hauler was hit by a train on Pineview Road in West Nyack after the driver pulled onto one of the tracks on Tuesday afternoon, October 18.

The car hauler's driver told Clarkstown police he hadn't realized his trailer was still across both tracks after he had backed up and put his hauler into park mode.

The impact with the southbound train pushed the car hauler onto its side and caused the ejection of the two vehicles it had been carrying.

No one was injured by the impact, and there were no significant train delays resulting from the crash.
