BDE: Mrs. Blima Badansky, a”h, Matriarch of Illustrious Family
We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Badansky, of Williamsburg and Monsey. She was 95 years of age, a Holocaust survivor who went on rebuild from the ashes in a miraculous manner.
She was born into the family of Reb Mordechai Yehida Gross of Pupa (Papa, Hungary), in the year 1927. She would remain a pillar of the Pupa chassidus for the rest of her life—but not before encountering the great Churban that came upon her entire family.
Following the war, she married the legendary philanthropist, Reb Avrohom Badansky, also a Holocaust survivor. He was niftar a number of years ago.
Together they built a Torah family, with sons and sons-in-law who serve as Rabbonim, Dayonim, marbitzei Torah, and supporters of Torah in communities everywhere.
Aside from the tremendous sums of tzeddokoh that the Badansky’s gave—to Pupa and to so many other institutions—they donated the mikvah that has recently been built in the new Pupa beis medrash in Monsey.
As noted, the Torah legacy that she leaves behind is a great credit to her entire family.
The levaya will take place at 5:00 at beis medresh Heichal Avrohom, 22 Ronald Drive.
