Baruch Dayan Ha’Emes: The Rebbetzin of Viznitz Monsey A”h Passes Away at 72

With great sorrow, the tragic news has been received of the passing of the Rebbetzin of Viznitz Monsey, a”h, wife of the Viznitzer Rebbe of Monsey, shlit”a, at the age of 72.
The Rebbetzin had endured many years of illness, and her condition deteriorated significantly in recent months due to a severe illness, r”l. Early Wednesday morning, surrounded by her children and her esteemed husband, the Rebbe, shlit”a, she returned her soul to its Creator at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan.
Rebbetzin Miriam, a”h, was the daughter of the late Rabbi Eliezer Meislish, zt”l, Rav of Uhel, and a descendant of the Rabbi Yosef of Deyzh, zt”l, author of Sha’arei Yosef. She hailed from an illustrious lineage of Torah giants and was raised in the home of her esteemed father in Chicago, where he served as a Rebbe and father to the Jewish community.
On the 18th of Sivan, 5729 (1969), she married the Rebbe of Viznitz Monsey, shlit”a, the second son of the Toras Mordche of Viznitz, Rabbi Mordechai Hager, zt”l. In their early years, the couple resided in Chicago, where the Rebbe served the community. Later, they moved to Monsey, where the Rebbe has led the Viznitz community for decades.
Throughout their years together, the Rebbetzin stood steadfastly by his side, supporting him in his holy work.
The Rebbetzin leaves behind a blessed legacy of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her children include:

Rabbi Dovid Dov Hager, shlit”a, son-in-law of the late Rebbe of Shatz, zt”l.
Rabbi Chaim Meir Hager, shlit”a, son-in-law of the Rebbe of Paltishan Bensinhurst, shlit”a.
Rabbi Moshe Hager, shlit”a, son-in-law of the Rebbe of Biksad, shlit”a.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hager, shlit”a, son-in-law of the Rebbe of Brizdowitz, shlit”a.
Her esteemed sons-in-law include Rabbi Naftali Mordechai Teitelbaum, shlit”a, Rav of the Kaliv community in Chestnut Ridge, son of the Kaliver Rebbe, shlit”a, and Rabbi Yitzchak Yochanan Rottenberg, shlit”a, son of the Rebbe of Kosoni, shlit”a.
The levaya for will start at 12:00 PM at the Vilchovitz parking lot for ladies. It will then go to the shul at 25 Phyllis Terrace and from there to the Viznits Beis Hachaim on Rt 306.
