Assemblymember Aron Wieder Strengthens Community Ties Through Robust Outreach and Key Events

Over the past two weeks, Assemblymember Aron Wieder has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to New York’s 97th Assembly District through extensive constituent outreach, participation in community events, and support for initiatives advancing public safety, infrastructure, and affordable housing.

Wieder prioritized direct engagement by hosting three mobile offices to address residents’ concerns, attending each in person. The first was held at the Pearl River Public Library, providing a welcoming venue for constituents to discuss their issues. The second took place at the Park and Ride on Route 59 during the Fire Prevention Safety Day event, where Wieder actively listened to attendees’ needs and offered assistance with state agency matters. The third occurred at the Piermont Public Library, further expanding access to state resources.

At the Polaris National Night Out at Boulder Stadium, Wieder connected with representatives from state, county, and local law enforcement agencies, EMS volunteers, and members of the Chaverim organization at their respective booths. These interactions highlighted his dedication to fostering strong partnerships between the community and first responders to enhance public safety.

Wieder also championed critical local projects. He attended the groundbreaking ceremony at the Pearl River Public Library, a milestone for community infrastructure. Additionally, after aiding the Golden Taste factory in Chestnut Ridge with resolving issues involving the Veolia water company—including securing the final permit from the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT)—Wieder toured the facility during Veolia’s work to connect it to the water system, underscoring his support for regional economic growth.

Beyond his district, Wieder participated in the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for Sutphin Tower in Queens, hosted by Velocity Management. Joined by State Senator Leroy Comrie, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, and the Commissioner of the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), Wieder emphasized the urgent need to expand affordable housing across New York State to address shortages and support working families.

In a separate meeting, Wieder conferred with leadership from the Ramapo Catskill Library System (RCLS) at his office to discuss trends and challenges in library services, including funding, digital resources, and community programming, reinforcing his commitment to educational and cultural institutions.
