Service Area Worker Takes Customer's Credit Card For A Ride
By Idy Perl
They say you should grab any opportunity that comes your way, but sometimes... you shouldn't.
A worker at a Thruway service area rest stop is facing larceny charges after she used a credit card left behind by a customer to rack up $1,636 in purchases.
On August 11, NY State Police responded to reports of a larceny at the service area, located in the Sloatsburg area. Their investigation found that employee Raufoliana O. Louis Jean, a Spring Valley resident, had taken advantage of a credit card that was forgotten by a customer and used it at businesses across Spring Valley.
On August 12, State Police arrested Louis Jean on two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and second-degree identity theft.
