Senator Weber Visits Bikur Cholim Shabbos House; Announces Expanded Hospitality
By Y.M. Lowy
Senator Bill Weber recently visited the Bikur Cholim Shabbos House in Suffern and was so impressed by the support it offers to families. He also toured the Shabbos Room at Good Samaritan Hospital and expressed the same appreciation for the accommodations available there.
The following week, Senator Weber met with the CEO and Administrative Director of Helen Hayes Hospital to discuss similar arrangements. They announced that by the end of September, ten single-occupancy rooms in the houses behind the hospital, which were used prior to COVID, will reopen for Shabbos and overnight stays. Additionally, by late January or early February, the hospital plans to add eleven more single-occupancy rooms on the second floor of the main building.
