Senator Bill Weber Presents Three Villages With Sidewalk Grant

Newly re-elected New York State Senator Bill Weber presented three Rockland County villages with grant funding for sidewalks.

The sidewalk grant funding was awarded to the Villages of New Hempstead, Airmont, and Chestnut Ridge in the Town of Ramapo.

“Residents come from all walks of life,” Senator Weber shared, “but one thing we have in common is recognizing the importance of public safety. I am pleased to be able to award funding to three villages to upgrade their roadsides to allow for greater pedestrian safety.”

“On behalf of the residents of Chestnut Ridge,” Village of Chestnut Ridge Trustee Shmuli Fromovitz said, “ I would like to thank Senator Bill Weber for prioritizing infrastructure and sidewalk projects to address critical safety concerns in our village.”

“Senator Weber has made it a priority to prioritize our village's safety,” Village of New Hempstead Trustee Shaya Schiffman said, “and this grant will continue to keep our community safe. I want to thank the Senator for the much-needed and appreciated funding.”

“Thanks to Senator Weber the Village of Airmont will have a safe place for pedestrians to walk,” Village of Airmont Mayor Nathan Bubel shared. “We are grateful that thanks to the Senator, village residents will be safer when they are out and about.”

“We’ve been waiting for decades for sidewalks in our community,” Mindy Levi, a grateful village resident, shared.
