Rockland County Opens Digital Park Permit System for the Season

By Y.M. Lowy

The Rockland County Division of Environmental Resources has announced that its digital park permitting system is now open for the season.

Residents planning an event, gathering, or special activity at any Rockland County park are required to submit a permit request in advance to reserve space. Officials say reservations are handled on a first come, first serve basis, and payment must be completed in order to secure a facility.

Permit applications can be submitted online through the county’s registration portal.

Rockland County, the smallest county in New York State at just 176 square miles, is home to an extensive park system. Nearly one-third of the county is preserved as parkland, including 40 miles of Hudson River waterfront and more than 600 lakes and ponds. With demand high during the warmer months, county officials are encouraging residents to plan ahead and reserve early.
