Rockland County Gets Grant to Teach Road Safety
By Y.M. Lowy
The Rockland County Department of Health received a grant to help keep people safe on the roads. The money will be used to teach kids and adults how to stay safe while walking, biking, and driving. The goal is to reduce accidents, injuries, and deaths on the roads in our community.
According to recent data, Rockland County experienced 62 bicycle-related crashes between October 2022 and September 2023, resulting in 45 injuries. These numbers highlight the urgent need for initiatives like this, which aim to make the roads safer for all users.
