Rockland County Fire & Emergency Services Spotlights Decontamination Tents in First “Did You Know? Friday Feature”

By Rockland Daily Staff
Rockland County Fire & Emergency Services has launched its new Did You Know? Friday Feature series, kicking off with a spotlight on one of the department’s most critical tools, its specialized Decontamination Tents.
These tents, designed for rapid deployment during hazardous material incidents and large-scale emergencies, are equipped with wash stations, heating and A/C for year-round use, and can even serve as mobile shelters or command posts. With four units stationed across the county, including at the Fire Training Center, officials say they are ready to respond at a moment’s notice.
This new weekly feature aims to give residents a glimpse into the tools and preparedness efforts that often go unnoticed, but are vital to keeping the community safe.
