The Ramapo Police Benevolent Association hosted an appreciation evening Monday night, bringing together local elected officials, volunteer organizations, and community leaders who regularly support the Ramapo Police Department and its officers.
PBA President Julianne Franklin said the evening was centered on gratitude and unity, thanking those who stand behind officers day in and day out. She highlighted the strong partnerships between law enforcement and local emergency and community organizations, including Hatzoloh EMS of Rockland County, Chaverim of Rockland, New Square Emergency Services, and the Town of Ramapo Office of Emergency Preparedness.
Franklin also acknowledged several elected and municipal officials for their continued cooperation and support, including Ramapo Chief of Staff Mona Montal, Ramapo Police Chief Danny Hyman, Captain Michael Colbath, Captain Kevin Lee, Assemblyman Aron Wieder, Senator Bill Weber, and a representative from Congressman Mike Lawler’s office.
During the evening, Franklin announced that she will be stepping down as PBA president following the completion of her term. Ramapo Police Detective John Youngman was introduced as the incoming PBA president, as the organization looks ahead to continuing its work strengthening relationships with community partners throughout the Town of Ramapo.
