Quick Action by Monsey Fire Department Prevents Major House Fire

By Y.M. Lowy

A house on Wanamaker Court was saved thanks to the quick action of the Monsey Fire Department after an automatic fire alarm went off earlier today. When firefighters arrived, they found flames burning on a dresser inside the home. The crew acted swiftly, extinguishing the fire and preventing it from spreading to the rest of the house.

The response also drew additional emergency units to the block. South Spring Valley and Pearl River fire departments assisted at the scene, together with the help of Chaverim and Ramapo Police.

Residents watched as the fire was brought under control, grateful that the fast work of Monsey firefighters prevented what could have been a much larger disaster.
