Nine members of the Thiells Fire Department participated in an ice rescue awareness seminar last week in the Haverstraw Bay Marina. 

The trainees learned and practiced a variety of rescue techniques and hands-on training with expert technicians in the frozen water to prepare for the freezing temperatures that Rockland County experienced.
