A kvias mezuzah was recently held at the newly renovated Motty’s / Meitiv wholesale store in Monsey, a location that has already helped residents save nearly $2 million on groceries.
The event came after months of renovations of improvement for the shopping experience for the store’s growing number of customers. The Monsey branch is the latest expansion of the popular Meitiv chain, which began three years ago in Kiryas Joel. Meitiv stores are known for making essential groceries affordable for Jewish families, offering high-quality products at minimal markups to cover only operating costs.
The concept originated with Askanim and Rabbanim who recognized the rising cost of groceries as a major challenge for families. By keeping prices low, Meitiv has allowed thousands of households to save hundreds of dollars each week. The first Kiryas Joel location alone has already saved customers over 11 million dollars since its opening, and a second store followed to serve the community.
The Monsey branch came to life through a partnership with local philanthropist R’ Mordechai Yaakov Klein, longtime owner of Motti’s Supermarket. Over the past three months, the transformed store has saved Monsey families an estimated $1.8 million, drawing thousands of weekly customers. The newly upgraded store now offers a full range of groceries, Judaica, housewares, and other essentials—all under one roof.
Many Rabbanim attended the Kvias Mezuzah, including R’ Mordechai Steiner, R’ Chaim Feivel Schneebelg, the Skulen Monsey Rebbe, and R’ David Asher Meah.
Meitiv management says plans are already in motion to open additional wholesale locations in other Heimish communities, continuing to provide affordable, high-quality groceries to families.
