Old Nyack Turnpike & Saddle River Community Looks Forward to Seeing Long-Awaited Infrastructure Project Move Forward

Residents of the Old Nyack Turnpike and Saddle River Road area say they are optimistic that years of planning and advocacy are finally nearing a major milestone, as the coordinated infrastructure improvement plan for the corridor approaches its final stages.

Over the past several years—and especially in recent months—the community has worked together with one clear goal: improving safety before additional development places greater demands on the area's roads.

Residents stress that they support the neighborhood's continued growth and recognize the need for new housing. However, they say responsible planning must go hand in hand with development, including long-overdue road improvements at the intersection of Old Nyack Turnpike and Saddle River Road. Planned upgrades are expected to include turning lanes, safer pedestrian crossings, and other traffic enhancements designed to better accommodate both current and future demand.

Throughout the process, community members have attended public meetings, met with Town, County, and State officials, worked alongside engineers, submitted petitions, and devoted countless hours to advancing the project through the proper channels. They also expressed sincere appreciation to the elected officials and public employees who have listened to residents' concerns and helped move the effort forward.
