By Idy Perl

The Monsey Fire Department and Rockland County Hazmat team responded to a hazmat scene on Hearthstone Lane in Chestnut Ridge.

A propane tank being used for a salamander heater on a construction site caught on fire and was luckily able to quickly be extinguished by a worker on the site.

The Monsey Fire Department responded to the scene and contained the propane leak until the Rockland County Hazmat team arrived to safely burn out and dispose of the propane.
