Massive Fire at Samsondale Avenue in West Haverstraw Draws Multi-Department Response

Yisroel R.

A large fire broke out last night at 29 Samsondale Avenue in West Haverstraw, prompting a major response from multiple fire departments across the area.

Firefighters from West Haverstraw, Haverstraw, Stony Point, Hillcrest, and West Nyack, and multiple other departments responded to the scene, along with Haverstraw Police and Haverstraw EMS, and Spring Hill EMS, as crews worked to bring the fire under control.

The blaze quickly intensified into a massive fire, spreading beyond the structure and igniting heavy brush surrounding the area, creating an out-of-control situation at its peak. Thick smoke and towering flames rose high into the night sky, visible from surrounding neighborhoods as firefighters battled the rapidly growing fire.

The fire was eventually brought under control and extinguished following a large-scale, multi-agency response, with emergency personnel remaining on scene to secure the site.
