Joe Rand Kicks Off Campaign for State Senate in Rockland County
A number of prominent local residents and community leaders gathered Wednesday evening in Rockland County for a fundraiser marking the official kickoff of Joe Rand’s campaign for New York State Senate.
Rand, who currently serves as Mayor of Nyack, is seeking to represent Rockland County in the State Senate, challenging incumbent Senator Bill Weber.
Attendees at the event highlighted Rand’s record of public service, strong community ties, and commitment to addressing local issues. One attendee described Rand as a people person who is well liked and ready to step into the role on day one.
In addition to his role as mayor, Rand is a well-known figure in the Rockland business community through the Howard Hanna Rand Realty organization, bringing both governmental and private-sector experience to the race.
The 2026 State Senate contest between Rand and Weber is expected to be one of the most closely watched and competitive elections in the region.
