Exploring Rockland: Willow Tree Park
By Idy Perl
Willow Tree Park is an integral part of Monsey and a popular destination for walks, picnics, and just sitting and relaxing.
The centerpiece of the park is the Bockar Lake, which is wrapped around with a beautiful, quarter-mile walking path. Part of the path goes through a bit of a woody area behind Amsterdam Avenue. There are benches scattered throughout the path to give passerby a chance to sit and take in the nature sounds that fill the park. There is also the iconic pier that juts out onto the water, stretching out from the circular sitting area.
To the left of the lake lays a large field and gazebo where many ball games and photoshoots have taken place. It's a popular spot for deer as well, and they can often be spotted grazing on the grassy field.
Willow Tree is the perfect oasis to reconnect to nature in the center of Rockland County.
