Exclusive: Rockland Daily Interview with Supervisor Michael Specht Ahead of Election

In advance of the upcoming election for Supervisor of the Town of Ramapo, Rockland Daily spoke with longtime Supervisor Michael B. Specht, who has strong ties with our community, as he runs for reelection this fall. 

Speaking with Rockland Daily, Supervisor Specht pledged to “continue to do what he’s been doing for the Ramapo community over the last eight years—but more of it.

“We have addressed many safety issues in the last eight years… I want to keep installing sidewalks, improving traffic throughout the town. The things that I know are important to the community—safety, traffic, schools, safe parks and playgrounds—we’re planning to do more of it,” he said. 

“This community has been wonderful, said Mr. Specht. “We have a great town, because of the wonderful people in our town. It’s wonderful to go out and meet people in the community, and for them to come up to us, thanking us for addressing their municipal needs.” 

Specht noted that, despite some of the past history, his office has a wonderful relationship with community leaders, and with all the villages in the Town of Ramapo. “We’re extremely proud that we have twelve villages today, and we work well together with them.” 

Mr. Specht indicated that although he’s the only one on the ballot, he does not take a single vote for granted—and that each and every one is appreciated. 

“The best way to win elections is to work for the constituents, he said. “This is what we’ve been doing for the last eight years, and we’re therefore very optimistic going into Election Day.”
