BDE: R’ Yakov Yosef Gutwein u"h

We regret to announce the passing of longtime Monsey resident R’ Yakov Yosef Gutwein a”h at the age of 43.

A renowned figure in Monsey, R’ Gutwein was the founder of Chesed D’Monsey, established around 20 years ago. He was known for his dedication to chesed, making lengthy trips, often a few hours each way, to help those in need, a commitment that was unparalleled at the time.

He was also well-regarded for managing the Viznitz simcha halls, where his calm demeanor and welcoming smile made every guest feel at home.

Sadly, he battled cancer in recent years and passed away this morning, leaving behind a grieving family.

The levaya will be held at the Viznitz Shul on Phyllis Terrace at 11am.
