Assembly Member Aron Wieder Joins Bipartisan Leaders at Camp HASC and Camp Simcha Events

On July 31, 2025, Assembly Member Aron Wieder participated in two significant events in Sullivan County, demonstrating his commitment to public service and bipartisan collaboration. The day included a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Physical Therapy Center at Camp HASC (Hebrew Academy for Special Children) and the inaugural "Leaders Share Smiles" event at Camp Simcha, a Chai Lifeline program supporting children with serious illnesses.

The day began with a milestone for Camp HASC, as Assembly Member Wieder joined Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and Assembly Members Paula Kay, Simcha Eichenstein, Kalman Yeger, and Sam Berger to break ground on the new Physical Therapy Center. This facility will enhance the camp’s ability to provide essential services to children with special needs, fostering an inclusive environment. The subsequent Annual Bi-Partisan Reception and Roundtable Assembly allowed lawmakers to discuss critical issues impacting Sullivan County and New York State, emphasizing the importance of cross-party cooperation.

Later, Wieder attended the "Leaders Share Smiles" event at Camp Simcha, joined by Rabbi Simcha Scholar, CEO of Chai Lifeline, alongside Speaker Heastie and Assembly Members Kay, David Weprin, Eichenstein, Yeger, and Berger. This inaugural event focused on bringing joy and support to campers and their families, highlighting the power of community engagement in uplifting those facing medical challenges. The bipartisan presence reinforced a shared dedication to improving the lives of New Yorkers.

Assembly Member Wieder reflected on the significance of the day’s events, stating, “These gatherings highlight the impact we can achieve through collaboration. From expanding healthcare access at Camp HASC to spreading hope at Camp Simcha with Rabbi Simcha Scholar, I’m proud to support these vital programs alongside my colleagues, serving all New Yorkers.”

Camp HASC and Camp Simcha continue to serve as essential resources for children and families across New York. The bipartisan participation at these events underscores a unified commitment to enhancing community well-being statewide.
